Al Kindi went to school in Baghdad and became a scholar and a teacher at the house of wisdom. He was one of the first great systemizers. He read lots of books and wrote lots of books. He learned about lots of different topics. Al Kindi discovered frequency analyses, which is were you decode messages. Al Kindi also had to advertise frequency analyses to the patrons (buyers) who bought their services. He did this by writing books about the benefits of frequency analyses.
Al Khwarizmi was a teacher at the house of wisdom in Baghdad. He discovered algebra and is considered the father of algebra. He marketed algebra by writing books about it for business people. One reason algebra was so successful is because it was so much better than the type of math before it.
Al Razi was a student at the house of wisdom. He became a doctor at a hospital there. Once he was a little famous he was invited to be the head of the hospital in his home town. He got even more famous there and was invited back to Baghdad to be the head doctor there. He discovered smallpox and that it was different than measles. He would treat poor patients without demanding pay. He criticized Galen which was very rare. Galen was the master physician and he was impeccable. That is not so now.
During this time there were two theories about eyesight, Plato’s and Aristotle’s theories. Pluto’s was that light is made inside the eyeball, thrown out of the eyeball strike an object and make an image of that object in our minds. Aristotle’s was that the entire form of an object enters our eye. Al Hazen rejected Plato’s theorie but made a different version of Aristotle’s theorie. His theorie was that multiple rays of light enter our eye. Al Hazen wrote over 200 books in his lifetime.
